Glenn Wesley became a Christian in 1979 after reading a tract but did not fully understand what it meant to follow Jesus. After going through a difficult time years later, his cousin challenged him to read the Bible and obey it. He started reading and couldn’t get enough; over the next four decades he listened to thousands of sermons and read commentaries like they were novels. He worked for over 23 years as a carpenter restoring historic buildings but his heart was more and more concerned about restoring people’s lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in various ministries: at Tenth Presbyterian Church he taught the Bible to adults struggling with HIV, addiction, and homelessness, and helped tutor young people. At Pilgrim Presbyterian Church he led a home Bible study fellowship and at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia he was a small group leader. After being licensed through the Christian & Missionary Alliance, he pastored Living Water Church–a mostly 2nd and 3rd generation Cambodian congregation–in the Logan community of north Philadelphia for seven years. Although partially retired, Glenn still works part-time as the Facilities Manager for LOGAN Hope School and explains the Bible to anyone who will listen. Glenn lived in different places as a young boy while his dad was in the Navy, but spent most of his life in Philadelphia and graduated from Central High School. In addition to his love of the Bible, he has interests and talents in the areas of history, photography, art, writing, and sports. He has been married to his wife, Del, for 27 years, and has four children and five grandchildren.
