The Book of Numbers is where read-through-the-Bible resolutions come to die.  We get bogged down by the numbers, the census that make up the first 8 chapters of this book.  But if you get past those chapters, you find the fascinating, yet disturbing stories of Israel traveling through the wilderness from Sinai, where they received the law of God, to the promised land.  

These stories, of the people's rebellion and God's faithfulness to his promises to them anyway, are not pretty, but they are real...and they are our stories too, stories of our relationship with God...
