Sermon Notes:

We live in a divided country, a country divided into red and blue, which have very different ideas on a lot of issues, including questions of sexuality.  Blue says anything goes, pretty much.  Red says nothing goes, pretty much.  Paul faced a similar divide in Corinth.  After addressing the blue side of license in sexual matters, he now turns to the red side of asceticism in sexual matters.  To the question of whether it is better not to touch a woman, Paul replies that married couples should be having sex.  In fact it is a couples duty to one another...and privilege.

This passage is a big "Yes" to sex.  Too often Christians are known for what we are against.  We are not against sex.  We are for it as God designed it...in marriage.

This passage also reminds us that we do not own our bodies, despite the common belief.  And marriage is not quite as central as we often think.
